New page

Griffin is the upcoming two-stage rocket from CUSF, designed to pass the Karman line.

The booster stage is named Panthera, and is powered by the White Giant liquid engine. It achieves an altitude of around 10km with a velocity above Mach 2.5.

The sustainer stage is named Aquila (formerly Condor) and is powered by an off-the-shelf Cessaroni Pro98 solid motor. It reaches a maximum altitude above 100km, before returning safely. The recovery system utilises a hemisflo drogue deployed at high altitude to give supersonic deceleration, before deploying a main chute at low altitude.
